Palma de Mallorca, 22nd June 2017
20 international travel and tourism companies fill the first edition of the Senior Executive Program. An executive education program dedicated to the Travel & Tourism Industry
Co-organized by JSF Travel & Tourism School and IESE Business School, it focuses on taking senior leaders through their paces with an agenda that has taken them from New York to Hong Kong and Mallorca.
Elena Alvarez from Facebook, Iñigo Valenzuela from Smartravel and Gustavo Garcia Brusilovsky from Kiklin discussed their thoughts and business experiences with participants exploring disruption due to digital transformation and the changes organisations need to make to stay ahead and compete in the marketplace today.
20 senior leaders from international tourism companies have concluded in June this year’s SEP program. It is the world’s most ambitious program customized for the tourism industry, where participants have assessed their competitive position in New York, defined how they should compete in a fully globalized environment in Hong Kong and shaped their future by developing a plan of action around its main challenge in Mallorca. In each destination, there has also been an immersion in the reality of each of the continents.
All of this has been developed transversally at the global level, with players from different segments of the tourist industry present. Roundtables have also been held on the current topics, such as the great challenges and opportunities arising from the digital transformation and innovation facing the sector. Leadership sessions with renowned industry personalities, including participation of Dr. Michael Frenzel, the former president of TUI and former President of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
In each city, participants have been able to make different visits such as the Rafa Nadal Sports Center in Mallorca, which has been able to exemplify sport, education, health and leisure in an innovative project.

JSF and IESE are already working on the next edition of SEP 2018, which will follow a similar format as this year based on the success achieved in this first edition.
